AlWAYS at La Résidence Resto Pub in Pierrefonds
- 27 retirees attended this special Luncheon which is becoming increasingly popular.
- On this occasion, all participants contributed $ 10 each in a "pot", to be donated to a Charity Organization chosen by the person whose name would be "picked".
- Winner: Ray Thibodeau who will choose the recipient of this "donation" of $ 270.
- Congratulations to the organizers of this event, Wayland Amy and Ray. Thibodeau.

New experience ... Restaurant-Taverne Magnan
- Altogether, 279 people registered .... but the very bad weather has led 51 of them to avoid the risk of misadventure on the road.
- The 228 attendees obviously appreciated this popular event, despite some drawbacks.
- A survey (105 responses out of 110 - a total of 125 vouchers) indicates that 95%+ of respondents want to return to the same place next year.
- The Committee, formed by Doris Dionne, Anita Cadieux, Denise Legault and automatically the president, will meet soon to discuss the situation and analyse the survey results closely.
- Thanks to the above-named Comittee members and Lise Gagnon for the preparation and control of this impressive event.

Here is a "Communiqué" (in French) the Region requested us to to reproduce exactly as written... but translated to the best of our knowledge...
"On December 8 our Regional Club held its Annual Christmas Lunch at the Academy Restaurant in Ste-Foy. It was a great success as demonstrated by the presence of 70 persons. We thank President Norbert Provencher and his wife, who accepted our invitation to come and meet our members and socialize with them. All enjoyed their presence and Norbert's speech.
The Directors of our Club have organized 5 activities in 2010 which attracted a total attendance of 187. We are proud of the results because 56-active members have participated in at least one activity which represents 64% of our members. It's a nice incentive for Directors."
There you are... promise kept ... and congratulations to this Regional Club's Directors, Laurier Duchesne, Denise Leclerc, Estelle Létourneau, André Duhaime and Pierre-Michel Gagnon.

As in the past many years a group of golfers bought "green fees" for the upcoming season of golf at Le Cerf in Longueuil. At the beginning and end of each season these golfers are meeting for a luncheon at this Golf Club's excellent dining room. This Fall, the date was delayed in November. Despite the fact that several golfers were already Florida, 13 people attended and enjoyed this luncheon.
Thanks to Jean-Guy Henry for his involvement and dedication in the activities of this group of golfers.

Antique Reception Hall, 6086 Sherbrooke East, Montreal
* Warm welcome with "cocktail punch" (fountain) .... and at will ...
* Great variety and abundance of appetizers (hot and cold) distributed by the servers during the cocktail which was enhanced with background Saxo Live music to prepare the ground for our Country/Rock star...
* Once at the table, a very attractive first course dish consisting of fruits, vegetables, salmon and others ... very special presentation ...
* The main course to which we could not resist ... even ... already "full" ...
* Fortunately ... dessert ... normal portion .... but irresistible ....
* Tea, coffee, soft drinks and water at will for the rest of the evening ...
* An outstanding entertainer / singer / musician , with a varied repertoire which fully met the dancers' expectations. The line-dancing fans particularly were most pleased... He outlasted everybody ... performing non-stop until 10:30 p.m. ....
* Before leaving, all without exception, have expressed their full satisfation, even asking our entertainer, Pete, for business cards... and inquiring about the date of the next "similar" party ...!!!
* THE BIG QUESTION, they asked ... WHERE WERE ALL THE RETIREES???
Disappointing ... 52 participants ... Surely not the price of $25. ???
Quite disappointing for the organizers who have put time and effort to produce this activity.
In all, 86 people, pensioners and friends, were aboard (two Motor-coaches) for this short two-day (1 night) trip. One of the two left Quebec area with 8 people.
Based on the number of participants, 6 "gratuities" were paid to the group. A $10 US was handed over to each one of them. The rest was drawn between them all.
Everyone enjoyed this "special outing" and have been impressed by the originality and the immensity of these two "super" Casinos, Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun.
- 208 people attended the lunch at MIKES Restautant in Complexe Desjardins. Whitin the next following days, we received “survey” forms (over 80) which are summarized as follows:
* Favourable:
- Very good food.
- Lovely Complex - Free parking.
- Graciousness of all staff members.
* Unfavourable:
- Excessively slow 4th service.
- No space for socializing.
- Round tables much more preferable.
Board's conclusion: Looking elsewhere for next year.

- Les Vergers Petit et Fils - Visit and cider tasting
- La Cabosse d'Or - A "last minute" planned visit.
A day filled with happy surprises. Welcome to the sound of TamTam, a "hunt of evil spirits", an introduction to an Indian dance. Conference of the artist André Michel and exhibition of his paintings. Visit of the museum. Excellent meal.
Because of the threatening temperature, after the discovery and appreciated tasting of "locally-made" ciders, the route has been slightly changed, at least for those who took the package with transportation. In fact, we made a detour to go to La Cabosse d'Or, a Belgian chocolate-factory specialized in making handmade chocolates. Too bad for the diet ...
In total, 58 people (including 33 by bus) participated to this interesting and original outing.
Thank you Gilles Dorion, for this initiative.
